The Department of Child Health Nursing, Moodlakatte College of Nursing, Kundapura, organized a program on the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day on 26th March 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Primary Health Centre, Basrur. The program was conducted with the objective of creating awareness about tuberculosis and emphasizing this year’s theme: “Yes! We Can End TB – Commit, Invest, Deliver.” The event witnessed active participation from students, faculty members, and healthcare professionals. The program commenced with a warm welcome to the distinguished guests. The chief guest, Sister Monica D’sa , LHV of Primary Health Centre, Basrur, addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of early detection, proper treatment, and community awareness in controlling tuberculosis. The guest of honour, Mr. Chetan, Health Inspector Officer (HIO) of Primary Health Centre, Basrur, spoke about preventive measures, government initiatives, and the role of healthcare workers in TB eradication. Another esteemed guest, Professor Chandrashekar Head of the Department of Child Health Nursing, Moodlakatte College of Nursing, shared valuable insights on the clinical aspects of tuberculosis and the role of nursing professionals in patient care and education. Various activities such as role play,health education, awareness talks, and interaction sessions were conducted to educate the public and students about TB prevention and management. The program successfully enhanced awareness among the community regarding tuberculosis and its impact. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the dignitaries, organizers, and participants for making the program a success.
