Significance of the program: Good nutrition means good health and good health is man’s greatest wealth. Every good food and liquid contained some important nutrition like proteins, carbohydrate, fats, some vitamins, minerals and water. These all plays different role to keep our body healthy and build new cells in our body. These are the important nutrition and their role in our body. As per the requirement of the curriculum 1st year nursing students conducted nutrition day under the guidance of Ms. Malini M K. The idea was proposed Mrs. Jennifer Freeda Menezes Principal of MCN. The proposal was granted. Later the students were conveyed message and the students were divided in to 6 groups such as Breakout Squad, Nourish ‘n’ Nurture, Calorie Crunchers, Hemocrew, Tiny Tummy Eats, and Taste Grills to prepare the dishes based on the disease condition such as Pregnancy & Lactation, Fever Diet, Obesity, Anemia Diet, Toddlers Diet, and Malnutrition. The Nutrition day was celebrated in Moodlakatte College of Nursing and was organized in well manner. Students participated and helped in organizing and arrangement for the celebration. The Nutrition day held on 22nd January 2024 at the Nutrition lab of Moodlakatte College of Nursing at 09:00am to 4:00pm. First the program was started with the introduction by Ms. Tesca 1st year B.Sc Nursing student. They had preparation on phase in the program which started in the morning. The lab was set, decorated with beautiful Rangoli. The preparation on phase for the program was harmonious and interesting with all the members showing good co-ordination and participation. In the afternoon the dishes were judged by 3 judges, Principal Mrs. Jennifer Freeda Menezes, Vice-Principal Mrs. Roopashree and Lecturer Ms. Akshatha. The students explained about their dishes.
