 Palliative Care Nursing Session

The Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing, Moodlakatte College of Nursing, organized a special guest lecture session on “Palliative Care Nursing” on 8th October 2025 for the 4th semester B.Sc. Nursing students. The session aimed to enhance students’ understanding of palliative care, its philosophy, principles, and the vital role of nurses in providing holistic and compassionate care to patients with life-limiting illnesses. The session was graced by the presence of Dr. Shalini Ganesh Nayak, Assistant Professor (Senior Scale), Manipal College of Nursing, Manipal, who served as the Resource Person. The event was also honored by Prof. Jennifer Freeda Menezes, Principal, and Mrs. Roopashree K. S., Vice Principal, Moodlakatte College of Nursing. The program commenced with the lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome address delivered by Ms. Rakshitha, Assistant Lecturer. The session was hosted by Ms. Keerthana, Lecturer, Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing. Dr. Shalini Ganesh Nayak delivered an insightful session on Palliative Care Nursing, emphasizing the importance of compassionate care, symptom management, and emotional support for patients and families during end-of-life care. As a token of appreciation, a memento was presented to the resource person by Prof. Jennifer Freeda Menezes, Principal, Moodlakatte College of Nursing. The program concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the management, faculty, and students for their active participation and support in making the event successful.
