Session on POSH

The Gender Sensitization Committee at Moodlakatte College of Nursing had successfully organized an important awareness session on the Anti Sexual Harassment at Workplace Act (POSH) of 2013. This program was held specifically for 4th year BSc nursing students to ensure a safe, and respectful professional work environment. The event took place at the college campus on 27th September 2025 at 11.30 am. The session took place with Mrs. Soujanya Shetty, Administrative Officer, Dr. A. V. Baliga Memorial Hospital, Udupi as the resource person. There were key dignitaries present at the event such as Prof. Jennifer Freeda Menezes ,Principal and Mrs. Roopashree K.S. Vice-Principal. The importance of the initiative was emphasized with the audience consisting of students and teaching and non teaching staff. Mrs. Soujanya Shetty started the program with an in-depth look at the legal frameworks and practical measures needed for harassment. Her talk included clarifying the definition of inappropriate behavior, along with the rights of the employee, and the formal process of reporting a complaint. The students engaged openly and actively participated in discussions with questions the whole session. Mrs. Jyothi , assistant lecturer, efficiently managed the event as the master of ceremonies. Ms. Preethi, assistant lecturer, delivered a warm welcome speech. The organizing committee formally expressed gratitude to the resource person by presenting Mrs. Soujanya Shetty with a commemorative memento. The proceedings were formally concluded by Mrs. Jyothi, who delivered the Vote of Thanks.
