Simulation Based Training Programme

The Child Health Nursing Department of Moodlakatte College of Nursing, Kundapura successfully organized a Simulation Based Training Programme on 20th February 2026 at 9:00 AM in the Lecture Hall. The programme focused on the New Born Module, covering essential components including ENBC (Essential Newborn Care), FBNBC (Facility-Based Newborn Care), IMNCI (Integrated Management of Neonatal and Childhood Illness), and PLS (Paediatric Life Support).

The training programme was designed to enhance the clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and practical skills of nursing students in the management of newborn care and pediatric emergencies. The session emphasized hands-on learning through simulation, enabling participants to experience realistic clinical scenarios in a controlled learning environment.

The programme commenced with a brief introduction highlighting the importance of simulation-based learning in bridging the gap between theory and practice. Faculty members from the Child Health Nursing Department guided the sessions, demonstrating key procedures and protocols related to newborn assessment, resuscitation, thermal care, infection prevention, and emergency interventions. Participants actively engaged in simulated scenarios, which helped reinforce decision-making skills, teamwork, and confidence in handling neonatal and pediatric situations. The interactive nature of the training encouraged students to clarify doubts, discuss clinical approaches, and apply standard guidelines effectively.

Overall, the programme was highly informative and beneficial. It significantly contributed to strengthening the practical competencies of the students and preparing them for real-world clinical responsibilities. The session concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of the organizing team and the enthusiastic participation of the students.
