The Lamp Lighting and Oath Taking Ceremony of the 6th Batch of B.Sc. Nursing students of Moodlakatte College of Nursing held on 27th February 2026 at 10:30 a.m. in the college auditorium. “The dignitaries present on the dais were the esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Anitha C. Rao, Principal and Professor, Vidyarathna College of Nursing; Dr. S. N. Bhat, Director – Academics, IMJ Institutions; Prof. Jennifer Freeda Menezes, Principal, Moodlakatte College of Nursing; and Mrs. Roopashree K. S., Vice Principal, Moodlakatte College of Nursing.” The programme commenced with an invocation, seeking the blessings of the Almighty, followed by a warm welcome address to all the dignitaries, faculty members, parents, and students. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp symbolized the noble tradition of the nursing profession and the spreading of light through knowledge and service. A floral tribute was paid to Florence Nightingale in honour of her remarkable contribution to modern nursing. The oath-taking ceremony was the most significant part of the programme. The pledge was administered by Prof. Jennifer Freeda Menezes, Principal of moodlakatte College of Nursing who led the students in taking the oath to uphold the ethical standards, values, and responsibilities of the nursing profession. The Chief Guest, Dr. Anitha C. Rao, Principal and Professor, Vidyarathna College of Nursing, Udupi, delivered an inspiring and motivational address encouraging the students to serve humanity with compassion, integrity, and professional excellence. The Presidential address was delivered by the Dr.S.N. Bhat encouraging students to remain committed to their duties and to uphold the dignity of the nursing profession. The Chief Guest was felicitated with a memento as a token of respect and gratitude. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks, expressing sincere gratitude to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, management, faculty members, parents, and students for their support and cooperation. The ceremony ended with the National Anthem. The programme was conducted successfully and marked a significant milestone in the professional journey of the nursing students.
