Celebrating India’s 78th Independence Day: Honoring Freedom Fighters and Embracing National Pride
On August 15, 2024, Moodlakatte College of Nursing celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day, where students, faculty, and staff members paid tribute to the nation and freedom fighters of India. It is a remarkable day when we honor and respect all our freedom fighters who fought for India’s freedom. The celebrations started with flag hoisting by The Chief Guest Lt. Col. M K Shetty and dignitaries, followed by the National Anthem. The chief guest of the event delivered an patriotic speech. In his speech Lt. Col. M K Shetty paid tribute to the freedom fighters who scarified their life for the Independence of our country. He also urged the students to be proud of their heritage and to contribute towards building a strong and prosperous India. The program continued with the chief guest felicitation, and cultural programs. Followed by talk on ‘Freedom From Addiction’ by Dr. Sunil Kumar G, Medical Officer, A V Baliga Memorial Hospital Udupi. The program concluded with a vote of thanks, and sweets were distributed to all the students and staff members.
World Breastfeeding Week 2024: Promoting Awareness and Education on Exclusive Breastfeeding
The Moodlakatte college of Nursing organized World breastfeeding week with a view to create awareness among mothers practice, Emphasize and Educate Exclusive Breastfeeding. The Department of obstetrics and gynecological Nursing, Moodlakatte College of Nursing (MCN), Kundapura, in collaboration with Taluk Government Hospital, Kundapura, Observed ‘World Breastfeeding Week 2024’ on the theme “Closing the Gap: Breastfeeding support for all” on 5th August 2024. To bring Awareness among mothers mass health education on breast feeding was done in OPD, at Taluk Government Hospital, Kundapura. The main emphasize of the class was on the Importance of the Breast feeding, Breast feeding Technique and its advantages to mother and baby. The health education programme was conducted by 4th year B. Sc Nursing Students, Moodlakatte college of Nursing. A total of 25 mothers and their family participants benefited from this programe in OPD unit of Taluk Government Hopsital. Participants have clarified their doubts and well appreciated in their feedback.

Sports meet at MCN Moodlakatta College of Nursing, Kundapura organized a sports meet at MCN ground as part of the Uthkarsh-2024
Mr. Mohammad Sameer, Director of Physical Education, Janata Independent PU College, Hemmadi, inaugurated the meet by lighting the sports torch, saying, 'Sports are an integral part of human being because it keeps us healthy, prosperous and active. We can have a healthy mind only when we have a healthy body'. Dr Ramakrishna Hegde, Director, Brand Building IMJ Institutions presided over the program and encouraged the students. Principal Jennifer Frieda Menezes wished the students for better sports performance. Mr. Praveen Kharvi, Director of Physical Education presented the Annual Sports Report. Students did a Highly disciplined March fast in four teams with colourful uniforms. Principal of IMJ Institute of Science and Commerce, Dr Pratibha M Patel, Vice Principal of IMJ Institute of Science and Commerce, Prof. Jayasheel Kumar and Vice Principal of MCN, Prof. Rupshree K S were present on the occasion. Students Sona and Nishmita were MCs of the program and welcomed the dignitaries. Nishmita introduced the Chief Guest. Chetana did the invocation. Muhammad Ryan proposed the vote of thanks.
